Redemption is a photographic project by a Portuguese photographer, Fábio Miguel Roque. The black and white imagery is Fábio’s personal reflection through his journey. He tried to keep all his memories as an individual and as a part of our society in recently published book, titled Redemption. So it is definitely an autobiographical project that can be approached from different angles, reflecting conflicting topics such as faith, death, sex and loneliness. His older series like The Cubans or Forgotten are documentary projects with his personal look at those subjects. Feeling the influences of his favorite authors on those series, he no longer identifies himself with them. Roque decided to follow his own way of thinking, “my work starts to look more natural and I hope to continue following my path,” he says.
