Meredith Dittmar is a Portland-based artist. Her works explore deep levels of union across biology, technology and consciousness. “At times, and especially when in the act of creating, complexity is stripped away and the truth of things comes into focus. My habit of attention more commonly rests with my true nature, and identification with my thoughts and sensations is broken. Everything is just happening with nothing else added. When I believe the opposite, theres the story of a contraction, a me who needs to achieve, a person who owns the work or the accolades/failures created by it. There is Meredith the wife, mother, friend, daughter etc. I move out of the moment and into the future, or past, or just any belief about anything. This work is greatly influenced by listening to the amazing non-dual podcast Urban Guru Cafe. It also draws inspiration from the mushrooms found in our forest, Eames power of 10, and the visualizations of complex math, science, and especially theoretical physics.”
