Cecilia Levy is an artist and graphic designer from Sweden. She received her MFA in graphic design at the School of Design and Crafts in Gothenburg. Later she went on to study bookbinding at Leksands Folkhögskola. Today she gives regular workshops on bookbinding and exhibits her work in and around Sweden. Working intensively with her hands, she realized books could be pieces of art too. She takes books apart, tears them and cuts the pages into small pieces that are reassembled into new objects. “Old books carry a history, not only the story written on the pages. Dog-ears, stains, a dedication on the flyleaf, a doodle in the margin… the story lives on, but in a different shape,” says Cecilia.
