Oleg Dou is a Russian photographer and digital artist born in 1983 in Moscow, Russia. He grew up in a family of artists who gave him the emotional depth in art that stirred his own passion for photography. He uses photography as a basis for his work and then he does a lot of computer retouch. His creations are something between computer graphics and photography. Oleg loves to combine opposite things which help to achieve thought-provoking and unusual feelings. The subjects of his photography are stripped off their eyelashes and eyebrows, they have a pale skin. All these visual elements seem to lead to the discard of their personalities but their spirit and deep emotional world shines through with a strong and distinctive force. “I am looking for something bordering between the beautiful and the repulsive, living and dead. I want to attain the feeling of presence one can get when walking by a plastic manikin,” he says.
